For interns All undergraduates and graduates interested in working with children or in our office are invited to apply. Fluency in a foreign language is highly desirable, though not mandatory. For those applying for an office position, preferred skills include computer proficiency, knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel), web design, graphic design, telephone experience, and/or accounting skills or interest. We welcome applicants for administrative positions (bookkeeping/accounting, office management, tech positions, etc.). Preferred skills, especially regarding office positions, include: computer proficiency, knowledge of Microsoft Word applications (Word, Excel), telephone experience, and accounting skills/interest. Additional skills may include experience with: web design (PageMaker, InDesign, etc.), databases (such as FileMaker Pro), and QuickBooks. Interning with The Enrichment Centers supplies unique opportunities to international students. In working with us, you are enabled to share your culture, customs, and history, while concurrently learning about others. We offer internships with flexible hours that allow interns to teach or tutor children of various ages and backgrounds. In addition, as part of a special program, interns from around the world may work in a Center specifically designed to foster cultural exchange. This is a genuine opportunity to expand cultural horizons. How Our Internships WorkDesign your ideal internship! With flexible hours, our internships are designed to satisfy your interests, needs, and goals. The Enrichment Centers is committed to ensuring that interns receive the opportunity to experience and explore their particular field of interest or discipline. As an intern, you may work in an office environment, teach an after-school or summer class, or tutor students one-on-one. Interns will be assigned mentors, who serve as advisors, coaches, and/or teachers to the interns. We offer Year-Round Internships in the following areas: World Languages We provide opportunities for interns fluent in Spanish, French, Chinese, Japanese, and Arabic to teach in one of our diverse after-school or summer immersion programs. Basic English skills are required. Education The Enrichment Centers develops individualized educational programs, and works with students of all ages and backgrounds (including those who are gifted or learning-impaired). We offer interns interested in education various opportunities to teach, mentor, or tutor students in specific academic disciplines. Other Academic Subjects: Math, Science, History, Art and English Teach or tutor children and adolescents in specific academic areas and/or standardized test preparation (SSAT, SAT, AP, GRE, GED, etc.). Psychology Learn about the field of psychology while working with licensed clinical psychologists. This internship provides students with the opportunity to do research, write reports, attend conferences, and/or work directly with children/adolescents. The Prejudice Institute Special arrangements can be made for our interns to work directly with the Institute director, other interns, and our network of consultants. While the projects at the Institute vary, internships are quarter-time (8-10 hours a week on a flexible schedule). Approximately one-fourth of the internship’s hours are assigned to office routines, while the remaining three-fourths are devoted to research, writing, design, or administrative issues. This internship works in conjunction with an internship with The Enrichment Centers.
